About

Notes to friends, family, and myself as I travel.

But who am I? A guy with a little too much time, cash, and moral support from family and friends. I’m aiming for perhaps five six years here and there (officially started traveling in October 2008). No job, no commitments. Drifting with the good weather, interests of the moment, and favorable currency exchange.

The rest is dumb luck.

Getting around this blog

The main page has posts as I publish them. Archive is kind of low-tech, not very useful except to see how prolific I haven’t been over time.

Our story so far… has an overview of my activities so far. The travels are organized further by year, and then by country, chronologically. I try to link posts in where I remember to.

Random days has posts that are mainly photos about… random days.

Ha …sounds like me almost. Left a job which payed way too much in a business I had no business being in to travel until I couldn’t anymore …ended up in Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Sudan, Egypt, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, India, Afghanistan, India, Nepal, back to Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, back to Thailand …got back and fell into a job I have no business being in and making quite a bit of money.

    Regrets …nope.
    Bank account: yikes
Outlook on life: in the top 1% probably.

    Keep on going
