So I don’t know if you’ve heard, but China is pretty big. I severely underestimated the amount of time I needed to visit my ancestral homeland and ended up staying for about five months! And I haven’t even seen everything I want to see!

Xī’ān
October 1, 2009 – October 2, 2009
From Luòyáng, I had several options, but I chose to return to Xī’ān, via sleeper train. Since my third tourist visa was about to expire, I was only in town long enough to get my bearings before flying to Guǎngzhōu. I spent an afternoon in the Moslem Quarter again, visiting the Great Mosque. I got to experience the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, here in the location of the first capital of the Chinese empire that began with the Qin dynasty. Personally, I celebrated with… more ròujiāmó!
